Corten A Weathering Steel Plate
Product Details
Corten A is weather-resistant steel created by alloying copper, chromium, and nickel. In addition to this, Corten A has added phosphorous which makes the material best suited for gas flue applications and for aesthetic facias The material is not recommended in heavy load-bearing applications – in this case, Corten B or S355J2W should be considered.
Since its creation in the United States in 1933, Corten has been utilized in every industry that uses steel, including the construction of bridges, trains, and buildings. Unpainted COR-TEN applications have recently come to light as being particularly well-suited for resource conservation and environmental considerations. Unpainted COR-TEN is increasingly being used in combination with rust-stabilization treatments on the exteriors of buildings, bridges, and other structures. In a variety of applications, COR-TEN enables the reduction of life-cycle costs and environmental responsibilities.
By alloying copper, chromium, and nickel, Corten A is steel that resists the elements. Phosphorus has been added to Corten A, making it ideal for gas flue applications and aesthetically pleasing facias. The material is not suggested for use in applications involving large loads; in these situations, Corten B or S355J2W should be taken into consideration.

The application of Cor-Ten A Weathering Steel Plate
Corten A steel is often used in outdoor structures. Its unique look and naturally oxidizing finish make it especially desirable for many architectural projects. It is also used in marine transportation, in the construction of intermodal containers and railroad cars, and in exterior facades and roofing systems. It can also be used as an ornamental finish for bridges, sculptures, and other outdoor structures.
